About the artist:
Victoria Pearson’s life as an artist began in childhood with a gift from her father of a Kodak Brownie camera. Because of her keen interest and aptitude, her father continued his role as a mentor and by the time Pearson reached high school; she had not only graduated to a 35mm camera but had a darkroom of her own. After completing her studies at Pasadena’s Art Center College of Design, she went on to develop a highly successful career as a fashion, portrait, travel, and lifestyle photographer.
Pearson’s eye for beauty and her aesthetic, informs all of her commercial photography. However, it is her personal work that she chooses to focus on now. Work that is distilled to express the very essence of her heart and soul. Innately modest and having an aversion to anything that might seem to be pretentious, Pearson is ambivalent about calling these works “fine art.” Elegant, refined, and deceptive in their simplicity, the works are, indeed, fine art.
Porch Gallery Ojai recently presented Elemental a solo exhibition of Pearson's photographic work.
